Hi-Fidelity DAC - the D2 can decode USB, coaxial and optical signals into high-fidelity analog signals output through the RCA Line Out jacks.
Headphone Amplifier - The built-in headphone amplifier allows you to listen to audio privately from all 4 input sources.
A Pre-amplifier - since the D2 has multiple inputs and a separate headphone amplifier with a dedicated volume control, you can use the headphone out jack to have it function as a pre-amplifier.
